Introductions Celeste (Shayshanna)

Suzanne Hurley

Captain Celeste Graecen
CO
USS Hippocrates

<<Ready Room>>

Celeste looked over Shayshanna's portfolio and rubbed her eyes. The woman had excellent references and had already worked with Dr. Lovonix. Always a good thing. She might be the perfect person to assist Drs. Richardson and Lovonix with the current predicament. She seemed to have an acceptable level of training in a wide variety of subjects but it was her expertise in genetics that Celeste was most interested in. She hoped that she could leverage the woman's knowledge in their mission and they'd have a greater chance of success.

She had invited the woman to her ready room and hoped there would be a positive response to her query. They needed every doctor they could get but any level of expertise in genetics or surgery would be especially helpful.

Having spent some time aboard the Hippocrates Belax was calm.  Being Betazed was also a plus so when the summons by the CO came, her calmness merely intensified.

Now standing before the door of the CO's ready room she took several deep breaths before making her presence known to the CO.

She didn't mind waiting but she spoke.  "Captain, permission to enter?"

If anything it was always good manners to announce oneself before entering.

“ I’m sure you’ve heard some of the things we’ve been talking about lately. So it should come as no surprise to you that I want you on the medical team to assist us in curing the Vidians Phage. We’ve got a lot of work cut out for us and I’ve already been discussing the matter with Dr. Lovonix. She suggested you as a possible asset.”

Shayshanna entered and stood before the Captain always keeping her abilities in check.  It didn't do for a Betazoid to read minds without permission or so her teachers and family said

When the Captain allowed her to sit she did keeping things formal between them until allowed to.

"You wish to see me, Captain," she inquired and was startled for a second in what the Captain next said.

The thought of curing was, to be sure, an intriguing one.  It was one of those things Shayshanna longed to do.  Assisting in curing a plague.  She didn't let On her interest, but it did show, to anyone with eyes.  She remembered Dr. Livonia with fondness.  It had been interesting working with her.

Shayshanna agreed.  "To be honest it is a wonderful opportunity and I wouldn't mind doing such, Captain."

“Excellent. I’ve prepared a packet with the information we’ve gathered thus far. And Ella has been researching with Dr. Richardson. I’m not sure you’ve met her. She’s a forensics specialist.” Celeste nodded in satisfaction. “We are working on a strict timetable here. As soon as they’ve secured plans for the next stage of the mission we’ll be moving rapidly. I need results quickly. I know that’s difficult to say and difficult for you to produce but you know how it is.” Celeste grimaced a bit. “Get me miracles NOW!” She teased with a small smile.

The thought of getting her hands into such work brought a light into Shayshanna's eyes.  Though she couldn't seem to recall the name Ella.  A mental shrug.  Ah well, she'll find out soon enough.

"Of course Captain, it's what I'm good at.  I believe I can get you your miracle in time and with those I'll be working with."

“I’m sure you’ve met Metrodora as well. She’s going to be assisting as she is needed.”

At her words, A shimmer occurred in the air and a lovely woman in a grecian Toga appeared. She had dark hair in spirals and large dark brown eyes. Her face was very regal and very chiseled as she spoke to the captain. “How may I assist you, Captain?” The dark eyes met Shayshanna’s. “Doctor.” The AI was seen all around the ship and usually in this same outfit so she was a familiar sight.

To say the least Belax had indeed seen the AI around since coming and wasn't surprised.  She's seen worst though this SO was interesting, others tend to be dressed normally and such.

She inclined her head toward the AI politely, "Metrodora.  It will be a pleasure working with you."  She turned back to the CO,  "Captain?" And waited to discover what she wished to do next.  Though in all honesty Shayshanna was kind of itching to get to work.
